Dental Veneers in Chilliwack, BC
Veneers are cosmetic shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth. Porcelain veneers are perfectly shaded to match the colour of your existing teeth to provide a natural look. Veneers are often used to hide badly worn, chipped, or stained teeth in the front of the mouth, which allows the ability to smile with confidence. Dental veneers do not last forever, but they can be replaced when needed.
Porcelain veneers tend to be more expensive but last much longer than resin-based veneers. Your dentist will grind down your teeth and make an impression in order to create a realistic mould. This mould will then be sent to the dental lab to make your custom porcelain veneer. Your dentist will place a temporary veneer on your teeth until the porcelain veneer is ready. At this point, they will cement the customized porcelain veneer into place.
Resin-based veneers are less expensive than porcelain veneers but only last five to seven years. Less tooth needs to be removed to place a resin veneer, and although it is easier to fix, it may also be damaged more easily. Your dentist will build the veneer by adding layers of composite material to your prepared tooth to achieve the desired look. Your dentist will then harden the composite veneer with a special light.
